Irina, originally from Russia, built her academic foundation across top universities in Russia, the U.S., and Singapore, impressively earning three PhDs in just five years, compared to the average of nine. At the University of Notre Dame, she applied her expertise in chemistry, materials science, and photovoltaics to build semi-transparent solar cells from scratch. With over 10 years of experience in sustainability despite her young age, she joined Genoa ES to merge science with entrepreneurship and help shape a more sustainable future.
One of the challenges that I remember the most right now, because I think the memory is the freshest, is to get the biggest revenue. We worked in teams, we thought about a lot of different ideas. We went to sell candies and ask people to vote, like Trump team or Kamala team, and selling red and blue candies on the streets. We've been working on our startups as well. We were very creative finding the ways how to get money to win this challenge. And it looks like the idea of your startups sell much better than candies on the street, surprisingly. And I managed to get $675 in one day on my Kickstarter campaign. So yeah, that's what challenges do here on the program, and you will be surprised how much you can achieve if you are very stubborn.
